JABARI PARKER (ATL)
F • 6’8, 250 lbs; 6th year, Duke
NBA ROLE: SCORING, HYBRID FORWARD
The #2 overall pick in 2014, Jabari Parker’s iso game is difficult to deal with; scoring profile; breakdown, hybrid forward – Parker is tough to check 1v1, primarily gets buckets from midrange: (slick) one-dribble jumpers, crossover-Js, step backs & pull-ups (lots of hezzies, can rise into shots w/o much trouble); finishes strong when driving the lane, dunks a lot* – reminiscent of an 80s-style aerial artist, specializes in power slams (both in the half court & transition); quick learner: needs to improve distance shooting and defending quicker opponents – usually checks fours, does he need more (or less) mass to have better success?; more capable at PF, still developing niche at SF; finding a way to maximize his gifted abilities in the Association – signed w/ Hawks (2019) – can Jabari set up shop in ATL?
*can almost tell Jabari was repeatedly taught to "go up strong" every single time, dunk everything in sight – won't let opponents off easy if there's an opening to bash
