#34•W. CARTER JR.
F/C • 6'10, 250 lbs; 2nd year, Duke
NBA ROLE: SKILLED, TWO-WAY PIVOT
Chicago's Wendell Carter Jr. is a highly skilled big w/ new wave tendencies; does damage in lots of different areas: Wendell's offense is just as promising as his activity and versatility on defense; smooth player w/ fluid movements - covers a ton of ground defensively, able to switch out & contain quicker opponents; excellent anticipation: great shot blocker w/ the ability to start breaks after gaining possession; raw, yet multi-dimensional scorer: WCJ can hit dribble pull-ups, convert short hooks & jumpers; makings of a strong outside shooter: good looking form, confident when set; very much in control on the floor, doesn’t force the issue much; must cut down on fouling, finish a little stronger off roll catches; future go-to post treat? (will EAT v. mismatches) - just as mobile as some smaller counterparts; crashes glass, leverages body well for boards; needs to continue developing faceup attack; natural complement for Lauri Markkanen - nice hi-low option, spaces floor, helps cover up defensive mistakes; great upside as CHI’s man in the middle
