NBA ROLE: SHOOTER

Anytime you need a corner (or elbow) 3, you better call Wayne Ellington – a shooter by nature who lives to air it out from long range; since his title-winnin’ days at North Carolina, count on him to convert open looks & defend at the two spot; Ellington 'makes it Wayne' and stays in his lane by not overcompensating in other aspects of the game; a role player you need to scout for, Ellington’s a pretty respectable shot creator off the dribble – does a nice job of getting separation before rising up for clean looks, isn’t afraid to drive down the lane and finish; bag of tricks from beyond the arc*: effective off curls, 1-2 dribbles, spotting up, in transition & handoffs; solid defender, especially for a reserve; all in all, at the end of the day, if we’re being completely honest, Wayne’s a very solid role player for any decent team – plug him into any 3-point challenged lineup and he’ll make an immediate difference
